Greetings from the town of Fairview!

Because there is no escape.

The town of Fairview has a long, pleasant history full of character. The residents have often lived here all their lives, as have their parents, and their parent's parents. The town itself is nestled comfortably next to a large lake, and many of the postcards feature blue waters and blue skies and smiling faces. The town was founded in 1793, and has always been a peaceful, if not quaint place to live. Not much worth noting happens in Fairview, aside from the occasional blood rain and mass Returnings. Oh, and there was that one time the Ancient One filled the lake with Ichor as black as the void itself. Plus there's the mystery of whether our Mayor is even human, but hey! They do a good job, and the cost of living in Fairview is at a record low, so what more could we ask of a potential lizard person?

And, come to think of it, ever since the great Clown Uprising back in 1929, the amusement park on the edge of town has been abandoned. Some of the locals claim it's haunted; that there are vengeful spirits roaming the grounds in search of bodies to inhabit or devour, or maybe they're just a bunch of young hooligans playing pranks. It's not entirely clear, but no matter how you look at it, that old amusement park is bad news, and everyone definitely stays away from it for good reason.

But all in all, Fairview is exactly what it sounds - a pleasant town full of pleasant people.

HOW TO JOIN:

• After checking the citizen roster, send your completed application through the submit box. Be sure to save it through Google Docs or some other way in case Tumblr eats it! You may also join through the discord server itself in the case that you don't want to risk losing it through Tumblr.
• Reserves last for one week, and can be extended for an additional week. The first extension is granted freely, but any additional extensions must be approved.
• Make a Discord! Feel free to use any handle/DN/aesthetic you'd like, but please refrain from including profanity or NSFW for the comfort of our members and be sure to include your character’s name somewhere for the sake of the masterlist tracking.
• From that account, please join our server and make sure to grab your roles from the self-assigned roles channel.
• Once you're approved, the main Twitter will follow your account and make a brief mention of your new arrival - Congratulations!!

GENERAL CONDUCT:

• Please keep all sexual NSFW and explicit gore private. Keep it in DMs, Docs, Discord, wherever you'd like - as long as it's not on the TL. Brief mentions are fine, detail is not.
• Respect your fellow writers. If you have issue with anyone, please do your best to resolve it calmly and maturely. If you feel uncomfortable around them, contact a mod and we'll do our best to resolve the situation in your stead.
• Headcanons are welcome and encouraged, but do not completely alter canon information without moderator approval.
• Be inclusive! Welcome new members in character where plausible, or out of character at the very least.
• Never hesitate to contact a mod if you have any issues or questions at all, or even just to share feedback or ideas! We're happy to hear from all of you.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT RULES:

• Please keep OOC retweets (images, memes, etc) to five a day, maximum. You're welcome to reblog other's IC tweets, and things posted from the main Twitter, but try not to flood the TL with content specific to your character.
• "Meme" days will be Saturday at Midnight EST to Sunday at 11:59 PM EST. This is subject to change based on member input. On Meme days, you're welcome to retweet more OOC content, engage in "crack" tweets that could very well become canon, and share your favorite moments of the week.
• You are welcome to use images in your replies, but they're not required by any means. We advise keeping thread responses under the character limit, or limiting them to no more than 3 replies. If you feel a thread is getting particularly lengthy, we recommend using a website called twitlonger instead! Of course, you're also free to make use of Google Docs, or anything similar.

THE TOWN SQUARE

• Town Hall - Handles everything from housing requests to marriage licenses to complaints about eldritch neighbors. Just... try not to make direct eye contact with the Mayor, should you see them walking by. The last person who did sort of... exploded spontaneously. Took days to get the stains out of the carpet.
• Fairview News Center - A fancy name for a comfortable little former radio station turned over-sized lounge. Here is where you can find the minds behind the News Blog, and, if you're lucky and willing, even get a job! Rumor has it that the News Bloggers are hardly ever seen outside of the Center, but if you wait long enough and say "news" three times into the reflective blackness of your phone screen, you can see one lurking behind the glass.
• Ye Olde Shoppe - Named after the simple fact that it's the oldest building in the entire town of Fairview! Yes, even older than the Town Hall. Come to think of it, in the 200-something years the building has been standing, it's never changed ownership. In fact, the same little old lady has been running Ye Olde Shoppe all by herself, smiling pleasantly, for as long as anyone can remember. Anyway, you can get just about all the basics here. Food staples, standard clothing, a comfy pair of shoes, a ritual dagger, umbrellas, and sometimes she even sells the deeds to houses! They're not cheap of course, but if legality isn't your thing, you'd be better off going to Ye Olde Shoppe than Town Hall for most of your physical possession-based needs.
